faux perfect

Fear is a state of mind - something that you can change if you modify the way you think. Why are you afraid?
Because you are afraid to lose? But if you're always afraid to lose you'll never play well, you'll never play comfortably - you'll always choke up. You'll always be too careful, you'll hold back, you'll do things you won't normally do. Why are you afraid to lose? Because you don't want people to think you're lousy?
But there's nothing wrong with losing. You lose, you learn, you lose again, you learn some more. Always take away something from your losses, never be so angry that you forget to learn, to improve. If you're so conscious of what other people think then what?
So what if they think you're good when you're actually not - then you'll always be a fake, faux perfect is nothing. (Where fake it till you make it implies a sense of inherent confidence in your ability to always do your best)
Always be confident, confident in your ability to produce your best work. If you stumble, smile and be clear of what to do better. Play like you have nothing to lose, because you'll always win something - confidence in certain shots, confidence to play better next time.
